SHIFT, which stands for Sustainable HVAC, Infrastructure, and Fleet Technology, is an exciting partnership between the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF), the Bureau of Fleet and Facilities (BFF), the PCC Foundation, and PCC. The project provides low-barrier scholarship opportunities for under-resourced individuals who enroll in PCC training programs in fleet and facility maintenance.
Eligible Awards (3 months - 2 years):
To learn more about these academic programs and related careers, students can sign up for a no-cost, Discover Clean Technology class which will be held at the PCC Opportunity Center on 42nd, Willow Creek Opportunity Center, and virtually. Financial Beginnings offers free Community Drop-In financial education classes throughout the year. These live, online sessions focus on practical, real-life money topics and are designed for learners at any stage. Community organizations are encouraged to share this calendar directly with clients and participants.
January 27 Financial Planning and Goal Setting Set financial goals, create or update a budget, and analyze spending habits to build a strong financial foundation for the year ahead.
February 17 Tax Preparation and Planning Learn how to gather tax documents and understand common tax credits and deductions so you feel prepared before filing.
March 17 Insurance and Financial “Spring Cleaning” Review insurance coverage and learn how to create a home inventory to help protect what you own.
April 21 Financial Literacy Month: Saving and Awareness Locus on saving strategies, retirement contributions, and helping children build healthy money habits.
May 19 Debt and Credit Management Learn how to review your credit report, identify errors, and explore practical strategies for reducing debt.
June 16 Investments and Mid-Year Financial Review Take a mid-year check-in to review financial progress, rebalance goals, and plan for summer expenses.
July 21 Financial Independence and Insurance Explore long-term financial independence, review insurance coverage, and check in on retirement savings.

Discover Clean Technology - Upcoming Spring Term Class Schedule

SHIFT, which stands for Sustainable HVAC, Infrastructure, and Fleet Technology, is an exciting partnership between the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF), the Bureau of Fleet and Facilities (BFF), the PCC Foundation, and PCC. The project provides low-barrier scholarship opportunities for under-resourced individuals who enroll in PCC training programs in fleet and facility maintenance.
Eligible Awards (3 months - 2 years):
To learn more about these academic programs and related careers, students can sign up for a no-cost, Discover Clean Technology class which will be held at the PCC Opportunity Center on 42nd, Willow Creek Opportunity Center, and virtually.
